The music of my life

Photo on 12-10-12 at 10.19 AMWhen I was a kid…just 4 years old or so, I liked to sit in the bathtub and sing.  The acoustics were awesome in that big old tiled bathroom.  It makes me laugh now, thinking of that little 4 year old belting out Skeeter Davis’ “The End of the World”  09 The End of the World

When I was a teen ager I was fascinated by Judy Collins’ “Both Sides Now”.  I thought that was really what love was like….You know, 05 Both Sides Now 1

Moons and Junes and ferris wheels, the dizzy dancing way that you feel
as every fairy tale comes real; I’ve looked at love that way.

Then I got married and my Anthem turned to Gloria Gaynors’ “I will survive”.  Until the divorce was over anyway.  2-20 I Will Survive

Then I got married again and my Anthem were two different songs….first Wilson Phillips’
“Hold on” 01 Hold Onand finally Ace of Base’ “I saw the sign”.  04 The Sign

When I finally met my real “Mr. Right” I was singing Livingston Taylors’ “First Time Love”.  02 First Time Love 1

When I finally retired I was constantly singing Coldplay’s Viva la Vida…  07 Viva la Vida

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

Now that I’m in the mid life phase I find myself drawn to Carly Simons’ “Life is Eternal”  04 Life Is Eternal

What songs mark your landmarks?
