Apple Peeler, Corer, Slicer….but mostly a good idea

Photo on 8-19-13 at 11.09 AMI’m originally from Michigan.  We have apples and cinnamon in our blood stream up there.  Growing up, Apple Crisp was one of my favorites desserts.  I, of course, started making Crisps and Pies when I was out and on my own too.  It didn’t matter if it was an Apple Pie or a Crisp the worst part was peeling all those apple!  When I unpacked my first kitchen gadget in the mid 80’s I was fairly new to the Kitchen Gadget Addiction.  I knew on first use, I was on to something.  I could have a pie or crisp in the oven in no time.  I loved this gadget so much, the first time I used it, I went outside and started pulling kids off their bikes on the sidewalk and giving them apples.  I wanted everyone to know of my new found time saving device.  Turns out kids LOVE an Apple Spiral.

Now, almost 30 years later, I’m on my third one since that starter peeler in the mid 80’s.  I like the vacuum peeler that is suctioned to your counter is the best.  I wasn’t happy with the kind that you had to attach to your counter with a screw that looked like a C clamp.  The vacuum holds much better than the “c clamp”.
